Expert advice, case studies and latest news from the fire-resistant materials industry
Detailed review of the MRI cabinet lining project, accounting for electromagnetic field shielding and fire safety requirements.
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) places unique demands on finish materials. In this case study, we will tell you about a successful MRI cabinet lining project at Chernihiv Regional Hospital.
The MRI apparatus creates a powerful magnetic field, so all materials in the room must be non-magnetic. In addition, it was necessary to ensure shielding from external electromagnetic interference.
We developed a special fastening system based on aluminium profiles (aluminium is a non-magnetic metal) and used GYPSUN Fire-0 Medical panels with antibacterial coating.
Thanks to careful selection of materials and installation method, the MRI apparatus operates without interference, and staff note significant improvement in working conditions.
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Finishing area | 145 m² |
| Completion time | 12 days |
| Warranty | 15 years |
| Maintenance savings | 35% per year |
The project was completed successfully, and the MRI cabinet meets all international safety and comfort standards.
