Clean Room Classification According to ISO 14644
The international standard ISO 14644-1 classifies clean rooms by the number of particles in the air:

Material Requirements
Materials for clean rooms must:
- Not emit particles — low dust generation
- Be smooth — no pores or cracks
- Withstand disinfection — chemical resistance
- Have antistatic properties — prevent particle attraction
- Be easy to clean — minimal cleaning effort
